The Nomadic School takes place every summer in Trentino/Alto Adige – Südtirol in the Italian Alps, more than 2000 meters above sea level. For a fortnight it brings together a diverse community of mentors and participants who are engaged in a variety of disciplines. They are invited to inhabit a context that offers an opportunity to examine art practices through the lens of alpine landscape while observing its pedagogical effect; without dogmatic structures, the Nomadic School thinks about scenic space, landscape, and the climate crisis as aesthetic territories that have political implications without the use of a political language.

The Office for Human Theatre is based in the Alps and deals with performing arts, landscape and personal politics subtly addressed in public and private space. Founded by Filippo Andreatta, OHT oscillates within the boundaries 
of theatre and beyond by collaborating with festivals, city councils, traditional theatres, foundations, underground realities and museums.

The first five years of Nomadic School were gathered in the publication A Nomadic Book (bruno, 2025) edited by Filippo Andreatta and Sarah Messerschmidt.
Starting from reflections on contemporary performing arts, investigations into practices of coexistence, and analyses of the relationships between environment and architecture, the 22 contributions collected in A Nomadic Book explore the interconnections between the practices and knowledges that drive the Nomadic School.
