Enrico Malatesta

Active in experimental fields between music, performance and territorial investigation. His practice explores the relationship between sound, space and movement and the vitality of materials with particular attention to surfaces, listening modes and the definition of multiple information through an ecological and sustainable approach to the percussive instrument. He presents his work in many countries and festivals of contemporary music and performing arts while collaborating with several other artists.

Enrico Malatesta presents a musical programme that unfolds as an intense and delicate investigation into the work and musical poetics of French composer Éliane Radigue. Malatesta, together with Silvia Tarozzi, is Radigue’s only Italian collaborator, and the work was created through an intimate process of direct transmission and the sharing of principles of aesthetic and musical intensity. Drawing on her long experience with electronic instruments, Radigue arrives at a music for acoustic instruments of a deeply spiritual and emotional nature, capable of transporting the listener elsewhere—an elsewhere made vital by the perpetual and ever-changing movement of pure sound.

The acoustic concert OCCAM XXVI is part of the Public Programme 2022, the cycle of public events of the Nomadic School, and took place at the Little Fun Palace caravan, beneath the three peaks of the Vajolet.
