Riccardo Venturi
Riccardo Venturi is a contemporary art historian and critic. He has published among others for Electa [2007 and 2008] and Humboldt Books [2018]. He collaborates with ICA Foundation in Milan and writes for exhibition catalogues, academic and non-academic papers including “Artforum”, “Alias – Il Manifesto”, “Flash Art”, “Doppiozero” and “Antinomie”, an on-line platform of writings and images that he co-founded.
Riccardo Venturi’s seminar engages with the dimension of time, both chronological and meteorological. Focusing on air and the phenomena inhabiting the sky, Venturi investigates how meteors relate to art and artistic processes. Conceiving air as a medium experienced without substance, the seminar unfolds in dialogue with participants, emphasizing that landscape formation is also shaped by meteors. The seminar takes place during a thunderstorm, within the PVC walls of the MUSE canopy.
