Studio Folder
Founded by Marco Ferrari and Elisa Pasqual, the studio’s work spans between the cultural and commercial domains and the investigation of autonomous research paths, while working through a diverse range of outcomes-from data visualisation to the design of exhibitions, editorial products and digital platforms.
The View from Below. Exercises for the Reappropriation of Space, the intervention proposed by Marco Ferrari and Elisa Pasqual, takes place beneath the self-built canopy adjacent to the caravan.
A short introductory lecture leads participants into the cartographic and digital space of representation, navigating between data and spatial sensors.
The subsequent invitation is to create ephemeral and invisible mappings through the use of GPS technology: the proposed exercises range from creating a circle 200 metres in diameter to a five-pointed star with 100-metre sides. Participants move through space, attempting to measure it with their bodies and to imagine their relative positions from above, thus mapping point clouds that make the desired figure (or something similar) appear on Studio Folder’s computer screen.
This unfolds as atmospheric meteors and rain-laden clouds collide with our position in the Alpine space.
